Sodium Acetate Anhydrous & Trihydrate CAS 127-09-3 / 6131-90-4
Sodium Acetate, also known as sodium ethanoate, is a versatile organic sodium salt with two mainstream industrial forms: anhydrous sodium acetate (CAS 127-09-3, molecular formula C₂H₃NaO₂) and sodium acetate trihydrate (CAS 6131-90-4, C₂H₃NaO₂·3H₂O). Our factory produces both variants with stable, controllable purity standards: anhydrous grade reaches 99.0% minimum purity, while trihydrate maintains 58%–60% effective content, fully compliant with international industrial and food safety standards including FCC and E262 food additive certification.
Visually, anhydrous sodium acetate appears as white, odorless hygroscopic crystalline powder or fine granules, melting at 324°C; trihydrate is transparent white crystal that effloresces naturally in dry warm air and loses crystal water above 58°C. Both forms feature excellent water solubility and mild solubility in ethanol, with stable buffering capacity to adjust and maintain system pH value without drastic fluctuation, a core functional advantage that distinguishes this chemical from common inorganic buffers.
We manufacture two complete quality grades to meet diversified global buyer demands: food grade and industrial grade. Food grade sodium acetate undergoes strict heavy metal and microbial testing, free of harmful impurities, safe for direct food contact as acidity regulators, preservatives, and flavor stabilizers in processed meat, dairy, snacks, sauces and baked goods. Industrial grade variant is optimized for technical manufacturing, widely applied in textile printing and dyeing buffers, wastewater pH adjusters, electroplating solution additives, concrete antifreeze raw materials, chemical synthesis intermediates and laboratory reagent preparation.
Our sodium acetate is available in multiple physical forms including fine powder, uniform crystals and granules to adapt different production feeding systems, packed in standard moisture-proof 25kg woven bags lined with plastic inner film for ocean export transit, preventing deliquescence during long-distance shipment. Our production workshop adopts automated synthesis and purification processes, with stable batch indicators and consistent quality across large orders. We support flexible service solutions including small sample testing before bulk purchase, customized packaging specifications, and large-volume continuous supply for long-term cooperative manufacturers worldwide.
Compared with alternative buffer chemicals, our sodium acetate delivers outstanding cost performance, low corrosiveness to production equipment, and wide compatibility with most raw material systems. We maintain sufficient permanent inventory for fast delivery, and our professional chemical export team provides full set of certification documents such as COA, MSDS, food safety certificates and customs inspection papers to simplify import clearance for global clients.
