Bisphenol a applications
As an important derivative of phenol and acetone, 63% of Bisphenol A (BPA) is used in the production of polycarbonate, 27% in epoxy resins, and the remaining 10% in specialty resins, flame retardants, and other products. Its potassium or sodium salts serve as raw materials for producing polysulfones, and Bisphenol A (BPA) is also used in small quantities as an antioxidant in rubber.
