Global - Premier PVC S - 1000: The Indispensable Polyvinyl Chloride Resin
Physical and Chemical Properties
Appearance: It presents as a white amorphous powder, with particle sizes ranging from 60 to 250μm.
Density: The apparent density falls within the range of 0.40 - 0.60g/mL.
Solution Viscosity Number: The viscosity number of a dilute solution containing 0.5 grams of resin per 100ml of cyclohexanone is 80 - 160ml/g.
Plasticizer Absorption Capacity: At room temperature, 100g of the resin can absorb 20 - 30g of plasticizer.
Other Indicators: Its K - value is 65 - 66, the average degree of polymerization ranges from 970 to 1070, and the content of residual vinyl monomer is ≤3ug/g.
Technical Specifications
Top - grade Product Indicators: The content of volatiles (including water) is ≤0.20%, the apparent density is 0.50 - 0.58g/mL, the number of "fish eyes" is ≤10 per 400cm², and the number of impurity particles is ≤16.
Other Specifications: Regarding the sieve residue, it is ≤2.0% for a 250um sieve hole and ≥95% for a 63um sieve hole.
Application Areas
Flexible Products: It can be used to produce flexible films, sheets, artificial leather, footwear materials, and various soft daily - use items. By adding different amounts of plasticizers, products with varying degrees of softness and elasticity can be achieved to meet diverse usage requirements.
Rigid Products: In extrusion - grade applications, it is commonly used to manufacture rigid pipes, rigid corrugated boards, rainwater inlets, and various rigid profiles. In injection - grade applications, it can produce mechanical components and other products.
Other Fields: In the wire and cable industry, it is utilized to make cable protection pipes and insulating sheaths. Thanks to its excellent insulation properties and corrosion resistance, it ensures the safety and stability of power transmission. It can also be used to manufacture some packaging materials that require certain strength and weather resistance, such as packaging films.
Processing Precautions
Temperature Control: PVC S - 1000 is highly sensitive to temperature during the processing. Excessively high temperatures can easily lead to decomposition, resulting in quality issues such as bubbles and discoloration. On the other hand, if the temperature is too low, the material will become hard and brittle, making processing difficult. For example, during the injection molding process, the barrel temperature needs to be precisely controlled within an appropriate range to ensure the fluidity and uniformity of the PVC melt.
Additive Usage: To improve processing performance and product quality, various additives, such as stabilizers, lubricants, and plasticizers, are usually required. The selection and dosage of these additives need to be adjusted reasonably according to specific processing techniques and product requirements. For instance, the amount of plasticizer directly affects the softness of the product, while stabilizers are used to enhance the stability of PVC during processing and use, preventing it from decomposing due to factors such as heat and light.
