Absorption Method
A solution of sodium sulfide (or sodium hydroxide) is used to absorb hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) gas. Since H₂S is toxic, the absorption should be conducted under negative pressure. To minimize H₂S emissions and prevent air pollution, multiple absorbers are connected in series to ensure thorough absorption, reducing residual H₂S to very low levels.
