Bisphenol A (bpa) Introduction

Bisphenol A (BPA), also known as 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane, is a key derivative of phenol and acetone. It is industrially synthesized by the condensation of phenol and acetone in the presence of catalysts such as mercaptoacetic acid, chloroacetic acid, barium hydroxide, or using ion exchange resins. It is an important organic chemical raw material.

Condensation Reaction:
2 C₆H₅OH (Phenol) + (CH₃)₂C=O (Acetone) → (C₆H₄OH)₂C(CH₃)₂ (Bisphenol A) + H₂O

Bisphenol A – the heat resistance pioneer with a melting point of 155-158°C, remains rock-solid in high-temperature environments.Click here to get discounted prices.
