Monitoring Method: Gas chromatography
Engineering Controls: Maintain closed processes with enhanced ventilation. Provide safety showers and eye-wash equipment.
Propionic acid Respiratory Protection: Wear a self-priming filter-type respirator (half-mask) when vapor exposure is possible. Use a self-contained breathing apparatus during emergency rescue or evacuation.
Eye Protection: Wear chemical safety goggles.
Body Protection: Wear acid/alkali-resistant clothing.
Propionic acid Hand Protection: Wear rubber acid/alkali-resistant gloves.
Other Precautions: Prohibit smoking, eating, and drinking in the workplace. Wash hands before eating. Shower and change clothes after work. Maintain personal hygiene.
