Sodium Hydrosulfide Flake

What is the absorption method for producing sodium hydrosulfide?

Production Process of Sodium Hydrosulfide Flake– Absorption Method

Sodium hydrosulfide Flake is produced by absorbing hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) gas into a sodium sulfide solution (or sodium hydroxide solution). Since hydrogen sulfide is toxic, the absorption reaction must be conducted under negative pressure.

To prevent excessive H₂S in the exhaust gas from polluting the air, multiple absorbers are connected in series during production, allowing repeated absorption until the H₂S content is reduced to a low level. The resulting absorption solution is then concentrated to yield sodium hydrosulfide.

The chemical reactions involved are as follows:

    With Sodium Hydroxide:
    H₂S + NaOH → NaHS + H₂O

    With Sodium Sulfide:
    H₂S + Na₂S → 2NaHS
