Sodium hydrosulfide is utilized in the dye industry for synthesizing organic intermediates and as an auxiliary agent in the production of sulfur dyes. In the leather industry, it is employed for dehairing raw hides and tanning. In the fertilizer industry, it serves to remove monomeric sulfur from activated carbon desulfurizers. The mining industry consumes large quantities of sodium hydrosulfide for copper ore flotation, while in synthetic fiber production, it is used for sulfite dyeing. It also acts as a raw material for producing ammonium sulfide and the semi-finished product of the pesticide ethanethiol, in addition to being applied in wastewater treatment.
